Alight is proudly a primary partner of Georgia State University (GSU), one of the United States’ largest and most diverse public research universities and a core source of talent to our Atlanta Hub.

Alight has been partnering with GSU since 2021, when we were gaining more maturity in our DE&I strategy specifically in Underrepresented Talent Acquisition and Retention initiatives.
GSU is not only one of the Top 10 universities in the United States to achieve the most ethnic diversity on campus, but they also have one of the highest prcentages in the coutnry to have first generation students, something that was very importatn to Alight's DE&I team.
Mutal Benefits:
- Access to a diverse talent pool: Our collaboration grants us access to a remarkable talent pool, rich in diversity and a wide range of perspectives. We embrace this diversity to foster innovation and creativity within our workforce.
- Community Engagement: Our partnership with GSU allows us to actively support education and diversity initiatives, strengthening our bonds with local stakeholders and customers in Atlanta, an important service delivery hub for Alight.
- Support for first-generation students: We are proud to support first-generation students on their journey to success. Through scholarships, mentorship programs and internships, we empower these students to achieve their academic and professional goals.
- Talent Retention: Our strong presence on campus makes us a preferred employer attracting top talent. Building relationships with students early on increases the likelihood of retaining them as future employees.
- Networking Opportunities: Our partnership opens doors to valuable networking opportunities. We connect with faculty, alumni and other partners, leading to strategic alliances and business growth.
In joining forces with Georgia State University, we're not just building a partnership; we're forging a path to a brighter future for all. Together, we'll unlock a world of opportunities and create a legacy of diversity, innovation, and social impact.
The mission of this leadership program is to “advance women’s leadership in the world by empowering our students to aspire to and achieve leadership roles”. It provides women at GSU with education, leadership skills, and self-awareness to realize their ultimate potential by building confidence in oneself, one’s professional work, and one’s engagement and impact within their community.
GSU’s Women Lead program is specifically focused on growing and building women leaders with intersectional backgrounds. Through this engagement, our colleagues and GSU’s students have formed relationships that extend beyond mentorship and employment. More than 67% of Alight’s interns in 2022 identified as ethnically diverse as a direct result of our relationship with minority-serving institutions.
GSU Military Outreach Center
The Military Outreach Center assists reservists, National Guard and active duty servicemembers, veterans and their dependents with the support and services they need to reach their academic goals.
Each center employs a staff of advocates, all of whom are military veterans or dependents, prepared to serve those who have served. The Military Outreach Center supports military-connected students through the development and implementation of outreach programs and services focused on meeting their unique needs. By consistently promoting and collaborating with community-based veteran and military-affiliated organizations, the MOC fosters partnerships that benefit student-veterans academically and professionally.
The Inclusive Digital Expression and Literacy (IDEAL)
The IDEAL program is an Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (IPSE) program at GSU with a focus on creative media, art, film, theater, and music. Our mission is to prepare students with intellectual disabilities with job skills and employment-readiness information while providing access to university education, resources, and support that leads to higher levels of self-determination, meaningful employment, greater independence, and a higher quality of life.
IDEAL provides a two-year, five-semester course of study where the students can participate in work-study and internship experiences and participate in a variety of extracurricular activities on campus.
The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) is an extension of the Multicultural Center and focuses on providing services, resources and intentional support for students identifying as or connecting to LGBTQ+ and varying gender identities.
The GSRC provides services including programming, workshops, organizational support and mentoring that focus on all identities within the LGBTQ+ and varying gender communities. It supports student engagement by aligning their purpose with personal goals that will enhance students’ academic and career success by building a culture that fosters identity awareness, identity acceptance and support of all students from LGBTQ+ and varying gender identities.
