Congratulations on your new position with Alight!

We’re glad to have you join us.  

Here are the next steps in the process to get you started​​​​​​​ at Alight. Please read this carefully and follow the steps as  directed. If one of these steps is missed or skipped, your  start date may be delayed.

It is very important that you complete these steps within 24 hours of receiving the emails. These steps are necessary before you can start on your scheduled hire date.

1. Accept Offer Letter & Other Hire Documents

You should have received an email from “alight@myworkday.com “ and the subject of the email is “Congratulations!  Your Offer Documents for Employment with Alight are Awaiting your Action”.  Please log back into your Alight Workday Inbox and navigate to "Candidate Home" (upper right corner) and “My Tasks” and Click "Start" 
 There will be three items in your Alight Workday account awaiting your review:  

  • Guidelines Regarding Ethical Conduct
  • Your Offer Letter
  • Alight Confidentiality and Non-Solicitation Agreement (NSA). 
    (refer to the screen shots below for additional guidance)

Please note – If you did not receive the email mentioned above, you can access your Workday Inbox here: Alight Workday Inbox.  If you don’t remember the password you used when you applied to the role, please click “Forgot Password”, DO NOT create a new account.

Once you have reviewed and accepted the three documents you should be all set.

​​​​​​​When all of the above steps are complete, check the 3 “I agree” boxes click Submit. When you see the Green Check and Congratulations you have completed the process. 
2. Begin the Background Check Process

Your offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check administered by our vendor, HireRight. Here’s what you need to do.  
Note that your background information must be submitted within 48 hours of receiving the HireRight email (mentioned below).  

  • You will receive an email from HireRight.
  • Follow the link in the email to login to HireRight’s secure website immediately.
  • Complete all requested information promptly. You MUST complete and submit your information within 48 hours of receiving the email from HireRight. You will be unable to submit your information after the 48-hour deadline which may delay your start date. 
  • Be sure to use your actual home address, rather than a post office box.

If you have questions about the verification process or any documents requested, call HireRight customer service at (866) 521-6995, 24 hours a day between 4 p.m. Sunday and 8 p.m. Friday, Central time. 

​​​​​​​If you receive a call or email from a HireRight representative or a member of Alight’s Human Resources team (gpo@alight.com) during the verification process, please return the call or email as soon as possible (within 24 Hours), to avoid delaying the verification process. 

If a HireRight representative is unable to answer your questions and it has been more than five days since your background check began, email your question to gpo@alight.com.   

If your question is not confidential, please also copy your recruiter on all correspondence.
3. Complete Your Personal Information

Once you have completed Step One – you will receive another email with the subject: “Request for Additional Information”. You will need to log in to your Alight Workday Inbox again and complete some personal identification information. This information is required in order to add you to the payroll system, benefits systems, etc.  Please complete this information within 24 hours of receiving the email.
The fields that are required are :

  • "National ID” (which is most common and is your Social Security Number or other similar US Federal Government Identification Number, or in Canada your Canadian Social Insurance Number) 
  • Do not Add a Government ID if the National ID is completed (Click Remove)
  • Click "OK" at the bottom
  • Complete the Gender and Date of Birth fields
  • Click "OK"​​​​​​​
4. Complete Your I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification

To comply with federal law, you must complete a two-step Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. We strongly recommend you complete both steps prior to your start date. Federal law requires that you complete Section 1 no later than the first day of employment and Section 2 within three business days of the first day of employment.   You will receive an email from AlightHRCompliance@alight.com prior to your start date, the email will contain a link as well as directions on completing both sections. Section One should take you less than five minutes to complete online. Section Two requires that you schedule an appointment at a Performance Assessment Network center to verify your identity. We recommend you schedule your Section Two verification appointment as soon as possible. Appointments typically require at least a 24 hour notice and should be scheduled for a date prior to your start date.  If you are unable to secure an appointment prior to your start date, please email AlightHRCompliance@alight.com for an alternative solution. If you have questions about this process or if you do not receive the Alight Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification email prior to your start date, please email AlightHRCompliance@alight.com and your recruiter.
